Median 2008 is a mod for Diablo II Lord of Destruction 1.1 or 1.11 by Brother Laz. It replaces the skill trees with 210 all-new skills; improves monster AI and behaviour; adds 18+1 new difficult uberquests for high level characters; replaces the item system, stats, runes, gems, uniques, sets, and runewords; and adds 3 attribute challenges which reward players for spending fewer stat points, and 2 level challenges which reward players for beating bosses at a low level. Median 2008 is a modification of Diablo II?s single player game which adds new quests, skills, items, and much more! This modification is not meant to be a substitute for unmodified single player; it is merely an alternative mode of play for those who have already beaten the game and are looking for a fresh perspective on things.
Second latest stable release of Median. Latest version released on 13th December 2007.

Almost 5 pages of changes in this latest patch, so you got to download it and check them out yourself. However, changes include class character skill changes / improvements / nerf / balancing, item changes (including additions of new unique items), cube recipes, monster changes, hireling improvements & most notably are the new uberquests.
One new summoning uberquest: Judgement Day Summon at Inner Cloister. When boss (Dark Uldyssian) hits you, 1% chance to summon either Imperius or Malthael. Either will drop your reward charm on Destruction difficulty. If you manage to get both summoned and kill them within 30 seconds of each other on Destruction, cube the charm with the swirlies on you to add extra bonuses.
One new dungeon uberquest: Toraja First hellgate in Act 5. Celebrants have bows and are immune to everything unless a summoned edyrem (from your Judgement Day reward charm) hits them, then the immunity disappears.
End boss: Lilith Kill on Destruction to get swirlies on you, you can then cube the charm with 3 arcane shards (disenchant uniques) to upgrade the charm. Ps. ‘Summon Torajians’ oskill will be useful in Fortress of Bone, coming soon.
Aerial, a well known name in the Median world, known for his character builds, YouTube videos and other great contributions, has created a well thought video teaser on what Median XL is all about, showing its new skills for various character classes, fighting scenes and many others. Don't be surprised to see all the new effects and watching some other skills which you have thought should have been played by some other characters in the original LOD. Enjoy the video below:-
It may seem easy for some but ridiculously difficult for others, and it's totally understandable why it's so. For those who wants to skip all the technicalities on figuring out how to get Median working on their copy of DiabloII: LOD, here are a few of tutorial videos found on Youtube. *Note: It's always a good habit to backup your original files before attempting the instructions given by the videos below.
